When I Say Go, Runaway!

Well, today I’m going to talk about one of my favourite bands, Hail The Villain.

The very first time I saw Hail the Villain live, they were just an underground band from Oshawa, Ontario trying to make it in the big leagues. It was September 2007 and my sister and I were at Campusfest '07 at UOIT in Oshawa. Watching this band perform live was one of the most exciting days of my life. Lead singer Bryan Crouch knows how to put on a show and entertain the crowd. After the show we were able to meet the band, get autographs and take photos. The guys in the band were so amazing and incredibly nice.

Since 2007, my sister and I have seen Hail the Villain live at many different venues and they never fail to entertain. Recently, Hail the Villain was singed onto a major record label, releasing their album Population Declining, to Canada and the United States. With their album and first video release, Hail the Villain is quickly rising from underground band to up and coming major hit. Their website, http://www.hailthevillain.com/ is an interactive site and features more information about the band and upcoming shows. Hail the Villain is definitely a band to check out.
Today's topic of the day: home
So I'm going home today and I cannot be happier. I missed my sister's 22nd birthday because I was here, at school. So this weekend, not only will we be celebrating Halloween (one of our favourite holidays), we will be celebrating her birthday. Going home makes me really happy because I am able to see my family and just hang out and relax.

Until next time,
Let it be.

Waiting, Watching the Clock

Ok, so today has been an overall crappy day.

I woke up this morning at 7am so I could shower before class. So I get up, shower and get ready for class, only to see that it is raining...bummer. So, I change into a thick sweatshirt and jeans that I can wear running shoes with (trust me, a 20 minute walk in rain in flip flops = dangerous) and I head to class. Ok, the rain wasn't too bad, so things aren't horrible yet.

However, class ends and I now look outside, only to see that it's pouring...and I mean torrential downpour. So, I tough it up, and start the trek back home. Rain literally drips down my face as I am walking. By the time I get home, my clothes are soaked right though. So I change into some sweats and a new sweater. I hang up my clothes in the laundry room in hopes that they will dry before my next class (which we all know they won't).

Now it's time for my next class. So, being smarter this time, I wear my leather jacket on top of my sweater in hopes of staying a little dryer and I leave for class. Unfortunately, the rain only seems to have gotten worse. This is by far the most it's rained all day. I get to class looking like a drowned..well, something. I have to sit through my entire class soaked, only to have to walk all the way home again. Sitting in class, I notice, oh nice, there's a hole in one of my favourite sweaters...great. Oh well, it's been a long day.

So I head outside at the end of class to walk home and yay, it's not really raining. So I start walking, only for it to start raining....again.

Now, I'm home and have to change my clothes again, cause they are soaked right through...again. So, finally, I am sitting inside in dry pajama pants and a long sleeve shirt.

What a day it's been.

Today's topic of the day:

Dexter (the show)

Ok, I've always wanted to watch the show, but for some reason, just never did. Recently, however, I've seen some episodes of Dexter and I absolutely love it. The story line is genius and Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan is great. The show is quickly becoming another one of my favourites. I'm starting to get addicted to it..it's that great.

Until next time,

Let it be.

All I Can Say

Alright, alright, alright. I am sitting on the couch, listening to some music and taking a short break from school work. I’ve recently got a chance to listen to a sample of My Chemical Romance’s new CD, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” and let me tell you, it sounds awesome. I am super stoked for this cd to come out. I have all of their old cd’s and I will definitely buy this one once it comes out. It will be a cd of epic proportions.

I mean, look at these guys....

The excitement of waiting for their new cd reminds me of a couple years ago, when Black Parade had just come out and my sister and I were going to their concert. That was one of my favourite concerts ever. It was truly amazing, and it makes me want to go to another one of their concerts. Who knows what is in my future.

Today’s topic of the day is: highlighters

I bought the sickest highlighters for school and I love them. They’re called “Sharpie Accent” and they are insanely bright. It’s stellar. They work so well for school. I had to read this novel the other day, and I highlighted throughout the whole thing, and it made me smile because they are so bright! Another good use of highlighters: word searches. I brought a book of word searches to school with me, and I’ve already done like 40 puzzles in like a week. It’s kinda crazy...aaaannnnd, I’m using my new highlighters, cause they’re great.
Well, I’m off to do more reading for school.

Until next time,
Let it be.

Time has let us be brave

Alright folks, I'm sitting at Williams Coffee Pub, waiting for my next class to start. I finished at 10, and have until 11:20. So, what do you do when it's the first week of school, so you have no work to do yet? You go to Williams and write a blog post. Well, that's what I do.

Anyways, I'm living in a house this year with 4 other girls and so far it's pretty amazing. Our house is pretty big and my room is amazing. Decorating was definitely the most fun part. My room is a mix of black furniture and red and purple decorations. I love it. I'm only on my second day of classes, since I have Mondays off, but today I go from 8:30 am to 10 pm. I have a class in one of the new buildings today, and I'm pretty excited for that. They look so nice from the outside. Fingers crossed that they're just as nice on the inside.

Being back at school feels weird, since I moved in last Tuesday and had an entire week to chill with my roommates. I don't mind being back, however. I kind of enjoy it for some reason...mostly writing papers. Writing papers can actually be incredibly fun. I guess it's a good thing I like writing, since I am in print journalism.

Today's topic of the day:

Grey's Anatomy!!!!

Ok, so over the summer, I became obsessed with Grey's Anatomy. It is by far one of my favourite shows. It's incredibly smart, funny, entertaining and heart wrenching. I'm a little behind on the seasons, but not too much. Ok, so favourite characters, Dr. Owen Hunt, Dr. Mark Sloan, Dr. Alex Karev, Dr. George O'Malley and Dr. Meredith Grey...in no particular order.

I love Dr Hunt because, well a) he's pretty good looking, in a rugged sort of way. Also, his back story is so interesting. It breaks my heart seeing his inner turmoil over the war and what happened to him.

I love Dr. Sloan because he is also incredibly good looking, in an older man sort of way. His quick wit is really entertaining.

I love Dr. Karev because, yes you guessed it, he is also good looking. But Karev also has grown a lot over the seasons. I loved when Addison was on the show and he helped her deliver babies. He was really great with children and it was kinda cool getting to see his softer side.

I love George O'Malley, because, well George O'Malley is the most adorable thing ever. I would love to have him as my best friend.

I love Meredith Grey because she is incredibly hilarious. The show is called Grey's Anatomy....so you kinda have to love her. She's what makes the show.

Grey's Anatomy is a great show and I cannot wait for it to come back September 23rd.

Whatta Night

Well, it's been forever and a half since I have posted anything on here. I'm chilling at the g'rents with Mum, Dad, Michelle, Uncle Mark, Aunt Lisa, Kayla and of course, G'ma and G'pa. Kayla and I are having a laptop party right now and I decided to write on here. It's been a pretty interesting summer. I haven't really done much, but in a way, that's been the best part.

Today's topic of the day:

Hot-tubs

Yes, those hot, bubbly, watery pools of water. That is what I will be talking about today. So open your ears and be jelly that I will be relaxing in a hot-tub when I am done writing this post. Hot-tubs are a wonderful invention. They are immensely relaxing and always make me feel great. Now, hot-tubs not only make for great relaxation, but apparently, they make for great settings for movies. That's right, I'm talking about "Hot Tub Time Machine". Now, I haven't seen it, but I have friends who have, and they loved it. So, as you can see, hot-tubs are great.

Now, it's time for me to vacate this blog and head to the hot-tub.

Until next time, my little minions,

Be jelly, and let it be.

Good Morning, Good Morning

Wow. It's 9 o'clock on Monday morning and I am exhausted. This weekend was very tiring. But that's not the point. I'm sitting in my media lecture, but our lesson hasn't actually started yet. We're just talking about the Superbowl (which I did not watch). Seriously, what's with the Superbowl. It's so long and really, on a Sunday?? Well, I digress.

Reading week will officially begin this Friday and I am stoked (that's right, stoked)! Random fact: my best friend's birthday is on Friday, as well as one of my roommate's. Hopefully I'll be going home on Thursday after my class. That way, I'll be home for dinner Thursday, and I'll get one more night at home (to sleep in my own bed...yay). I'm really excited for reading week, even though I'm going to have a ton of work to do. I plan on splitting my time between work and doing other stuff. Luckily, some of my work includes 'doing other stuff'. My final paper for media is about the Harry Potter phenomenon; therefore, I can watch all six Harry Potter films and classify it as 'research'. Pretty sweet.

I'm also really excited to just go home for a bit....even though it feels like we just finished Christmas break. Seriously, it does not feel like it's been about a month and a half of school after Christmas. We have not been here that long, but in reality, we have. Weird. This semester is going by so fast, and before we know it, it's going to be summer break!! Again, I digress. Reading week is going to be great. I honestly cannot wait to sleep in my own bed, or spend time with my family and friends.

Well, class is going to start soon.

Until next time,

Let it be.

Goodbye ‘09, Hello 2010

I'm sitting on the couch in my apartment, talking on the phone to my mum, watching X Men, and reflecting on my first semester of university. First semester was a great experience for me. I was able to get a hold of what I need to do to achieve my goals at university. This semester, I will be able to get the marks I want, but still enjoy the experience.

So, as I say goodbye to 2009 and hello to 2010, I take the time to look upon everything I learned over the year, all the new friends I've made, as well as the mistakes I've grown from. I love being away at school, but the three week break for Christmas was greatly needed. Being back at school now is very strange after being gone for so long. I had just gotten used to being home again, then January rolled around, and it was time to go back to school. I'm getting back into school mode and will keep you updated as the semester goes on.

Until next time,

Let it be.
